Homebirth - I know I talk about it often enough but it really is the most incredible experience. This applies to me being the one documenting the birth and for you, the birthing family. It all comes down to choices and doing what your body requires. As a L&D nurse, Alyssa made a very concious decision to have her first delivery at home. I am sure the reasons went well beyond what I know, but one small reason was so that she could deliver not lying on her back. It didn't go that direction - and in those moments her being on her back ended up feeling like the best spot for her. She had the choice and the support to do whatever felt right, and while it took Marley a while to make her way out, it came in due time - and with great patience. Working with this birth team never leaves me feeling like it is just another baby being born. The compassion and support through such a process is beautiful - and every birth is lucky to have such compassion to get through their deliveries.
