Breech Birth of sol bernard

I dropped to my knees….. and said, “The baby is coming!” I felt my body begin to heave. I knew that I wasn’t going to make it out of that bathroom. A few minutes later, while still on my knees on the office bathroom floor, another contraction came. This time I could feel his descent. Ruben was next to me. Sailor was in front. I could hear Isaac, Judah, and Cedar excitedly arriving. I felt complete peace and ease with my team. …… (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of talia brooke

POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE MENTIONED: “We didn’t have time to grab heart tones, or even do a cervical check.  Without anyone telling me to, I simply listened to my body and knew it was time. Standing felt like the right position - and I went for it. Emily could see her head as I started to instinctually push. I knew I had to get her out. I was standing on my living room rug, leaning forward, with my hands resting on the couch. …… (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of MYLES VERNON

SHOULDER DYSTOCIA MENTIONED: After several pushes, his head slowly crowned and was finally out! Emily could see he was having trouble rotating to get his shoulders out, so she suggested I get on hands and knees. Within a few seconds she was able to turn baby's shoulders to help him out. As she was assisting us, before he was out, she gently said, "Your baby is going to need a little help when it's born." …… (((Continue Reading)))

Breech Birth of hattie leigh

Riley and I like to call this next part the “Puke and Rally” (lol!) because I ate and drank, explosively puked, and then I was ready! My entire mood shifted and I was determined it was time to meet our baby! At approximately 4:30PM, I got back down on my hands and knees and did some pushing there. I moved back and forth from this position to the toilet a couple times before coming back to our room. I was only getting 2-3 strong pushes per contraction, but they were effective and the birth team kept cheering me on for pushing properly and making big progress. …… (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of evelyn kate

FIRST HOMEBIRTH: When the night came for Evelyn to be born, it was one of the most POWERFUL moments I have ever experienced in life. My wife was a ROCKSTAR, and just seeing her mindset and body work to get the baby out was amazing. During the birth I got to see firsthand Evelyn go back in the birth canal, flip around, and kick herself back out to the correct position that she needed to be in to be born. I also got to deliver our daughter myself, with the guidance of our amazing midwife and her team. Lifting her up out of the water and handing her to Caitlin was life changing....……. Birth of isaac william

FIRST TIME MOM: “Overnight the contractions slowly kept getting stronger. Emily and I were talking. At about 12:30 PM on Wednesday I updated her again. She asked, “Do you think your contractions have gotten any stronger?” I said “oh yes!” and right away she said she was on her way. She was at our house in no time. When her and her assistant got to our house, I was watching TV and just breathing through them. After she got settled in my house and set-up, she then got my vitals, listened to the baby, and checked my cervix. I was already dilated to 7/8 cm…… (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of Carson Scott

FIRST HOMEBIRTH: Tears streamed down my face and loud moans brought strength like an athlete achieving a heavy lift. Never once did I doubt my body's ability to safely bring my baby into the world. Never once did I question whether I could do this on my own...……. (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of Marley jayne

FIRST TIME MOM: As a L&D nurse, Alyssa made a very concious decision to have her first delivery at home. I am sure the reasons went well beyond what I know, but one small reason was so that she could deliver not lying on her back. It didn't go that direction - and in those moments her being on her back ended up feeling like the best spot for her. She had the choice and the support to do whatever felt right..……. Birth of mayim meadow

FAST BIRTH: When Emily came to check vitals again she heard me tell my husband I had the urge to push. I climbed into the tub at 1:29pm and at 1:31pm my water broke. I heard Emily report that there was meconium in my water. I didn’t have time to worry because as I had my next contraction I could feel my baby’s head..……. (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of Hudson hugh james

I woke up around 7:45 am on Sunday with contractions that were much more intense! I called Emily crying (it was a long night and I hardly had any sleep) and told her they felt worse…. They still were coming strong and they were starting to last much longer, looking like actual labor contractions. This was going to be it! .……. (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of Konrad Calder

I, like most women, had a regular OBGYN. Although she was awesome, she was very concerned about a significant pelvic injury I sustained with my daughter’s birth years before. I had a very challenging first birth that took years and years to recover from. My OBGYN recommended a planned cesarean. I accepted that answer at first.……. (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of BEXLEY EDITH

Something was different this time though. I pushed twice and then realized something was very wrong. She wasn't progressing anymore. She was only out to her nose and wouldn’t budge any further.….. The next part became a bit of a blur as I worked seamlessly, moving my body intuitively with my baby and my midwife…. like a dance, to free her shoulder……. (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of cora june

When I got in the pool, I reached down and could feel Cora’s head. I felt a sense of relief come over me. Jon noticed my mood shift too, and mentioned how empowered and excited I sounded. I had just one or two contractions in the pool before pushing her head out. It felt fast and I knew I was going to tear…. (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of Benjamin Aaron

After three very unnecessary hospital inductions, in my 39th week, I began to wonder if I had tricked my body into forgetting how to go into labor on it’s own. Sounds silly, but it was a very real thought I had when my guess date came and went. Each day that passed was more emotionally taxing than the last, but it was undeniably well worth it……. Birth of astrid renee

POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE / IVF MENTIONED: As soon as I stood up I felt a gush and said "Nope she is coming right now!" I laid back down and Emily yelled for Wantina who rushed into the room and immediately yelled for Chris! Astrid was already coming out and I hadn't even began to push! Chris got in there right as I was pushing. On the second push Emily told me Astrid's head was out and her hand came with it! Her shoulder was stuck……. (((Continue Reading)))

Birth of Jacobee Mark

When I found out I was pregnant there were many thoughts; thoughts of doubt and worry. I was concerned about my weight and how “out of shape” I was. I was concerned about being about to handle a newborn and trying to homeschool 3 kids with 2 toddlers already, but my biggest concern was labor and delivery. There were so many doubts. None of my deliveries have been easy or gotten easier (I thought for sure by 4 or 5 they’d slide out, right?!). (((Continue Reading)))
